My name is Melody Barker. This is a picture of my great grandfather's bar in the early 1900s. It is located at 157 Washington Street. His name was John Williamon and he was born on March 14, 1879. He supposedly married someone from Seattle and died there. However, we have no further information.
John Williamon came from Cave Spring, Georgia. The story is that he fled to Washington state from Georgia after a young woman became pregnant. Of course, the Williamons say she just "threw herself" at him. He married another woman, supposedly from Seattle.
In this photograph, John is dressed in white standing behind the bar. His brother Walt, who was visiting Seattle, is standing to the left, dressed in black.
